You must pre-register in order to attend the 7/8 Select Team tryout.  Please fill out the form below and hit submit when done.  Please be sure to fill out all the fields completely.  More information about the Select Team can be found below the sign-up form.
Hello parents of 7th and 8th grade girls:

We will be holding tryouts for the 7th/8th grade Girls Select Team on the following dates and times:

DAY 1: Saturday, February 4 8:00-9:30pm

DAY 2:  Saturday, February 11 12:00-2:00pm

IMPORTANT:  You MUST Pre-Register for the tryout in order to attend the dates- see form ABOVE.

Tryouts will be held at Sports Galaxy, 715 Willow Grove Rd, Hackettstown, NJ 07840

All players interested in playing for the 7/8 Girls Select team this spring are invited to attend one or both of the tryout dates.  We wanted to offer more flexibility for families this year by offering two dates.  You are not required to attend both days to be considered for the Select Team.  Players who cannot make at least one of the tryout dates will not be considered for the team.  Players who are not chosen to play on the Select team will be placed on a travel team for the spring season.  We plan to choose 18-20 girls to play on the Select team.

There is a $40 tryout fee to attend.  This is a one-time, non-refundable fee.  There is no additional fee if a player decides to attend both of the tryout dates-- the fee is still $40.  Please bring a check or cash on the day of your tryout.  Checks should be made payable to LVJLC.  

Results of the tryout will be posted on our website, www.LVLAX.org, on Friday, February 17th BY 7:00PM.  

Please be sure you bring your stick, goggles, mouth guard and plenty of water.  Sports Galaxy is an indoor turf facility so sneakers or cleats would be appropriate footwear.

Things to consider before signing up for the tryout:

• We estimate the additional cost of playing on the Select team to be $150/player.  This will be finalized by mid-February.
• If you play other sports, please give serious consideration as to whether or not you can make a full committment to the Select team.  We expect a 110% commitment to this team and conflicts with other sports or activities will affect team chemistry and playing time.
• The Select team is designed for the very serious lacrosse player and play will be at a very high level throughout the season.  Practices will be more demanding and possibly more frequent than normal.
• The Select team plays to win and playing time will not be equal for all players.  Coaches will do their very best to strike a balance with all the players but that can become increasingly difficult in very tight games.
• Team management falls solely to the head coach and coaching staff and parents should understand that all decisions are made in the best interest of the team.  Deliberate attempts by individuals to undermine the coaching staff will not be tolerated.
• The head coach of the team will not be a parent on the team, although we may ask a few select parents to help out in practices.  The head coach will be interviewed and hired by the LVJLC Board.
